Peisey, Les Arcs
Traditionally a farming village, Peisey maintains its cheese production to this day. Clusters of characterful old stone properties make this a popular village to visit and a pleasant change from the modern ski resorts in France. The beautiful Chalet Barthelemy is well located to access the great links to the Peisey / Vallandry ski slopes as well as the rest of the Les Arcs domain and larger Paradiski area.
You will find a couple of bars and restaurants in the village centre which is a short stroll away making it a convenient solution for guests during the staff's day off. There is a takeaway pizza service but if you fancy something a bit more special, Le Petit Hibou, situated at the end of the valley near the Nordic Centre is a good option. They can arrange minibus transfers to get you there and back if required for a miminal fee. Due to popularity, booking early is recommended.
The Les Arcs ski area is now linked to La Plagne making creating ‘Paradiski’ – one of the largest skiing areas in the French Alps. Using the revolutionary Vanoise Express (a double decker cable car taking up to 200 people) which whisks you across the valley in just 4 minutes, there is now over 425km of slopes to challenge & conquer!
