Ski Hiver Cuisine for Catered or Easy-Catered options
The great food we prepare in chalet is just as important as the great snow outside and getting it wrong can, quite literally, leave a bad taste in the mouth! Thankfully, we have a lot more control over the food than the snow!
We prepare the menus in consultation with our chefs with each bringing their new favourite recipes to create a delicious balance of mountain traditions and exciting trends, cooked using the freshest products available during the season. Then starts the hard job of cooking, laughing, tasting, and sampling together until we have agreed upon and finalised all the different options for all diets. This is Ski Hiver teamwork at its best!
Our teams tend to be mature with plenty of international life experience. With a healthy pinch of common sense and kilos of will power and a passion for skiing, they are able to adapt to all situations.
If you choose our catered or easy-catered service, we can guarantee your group will enjoy plenty of friendly conversation and that you will be in safe hands for a stress-free holiday. At Ski Hiver, everyone has a passion for cooking and the mountains so we can give you advice on where is good to eat, drink and of course ski or snowboard!
Please be aware that special dietary requirements may be subject to a surcharge. Please check with us first or see * below.
Cooking in chalet on a fully catered option:
To prepare a good and safe ski day, your group will need energy and so your morning starts off with plenty of choice on your table with fresh bread from the local bakery, honey and preserves, cold meats and cheese, boiled eggs or porridge, pure orange juice, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, chocolate, tea and coffee.
After a hard day’s skiing and just before you pop into the hot tub or sauna or maybe both depending of your chalet, you will enjoy a choice of savoury treat or sweet homemade cake, scones or biscuits with your hot chocolate, tea or coffee.
We want you to enjoy your meal and aim to make dinnertime one of the highlights of your holiday. While you get on with enjoying your day, your hosts will prepare and cook a tasty 4-course meal just for you. The meals combine many international elements created with the local products and served with fine red and white wine.
Of course, we can adapt and tweak our menus depending on your dietary requirements and allergies*. At Ski Hiver, we love and focus on non-pretentious, well balanced, hearty but nutritious dishes so expect plenty of fine ingredients, loads of vegetables and colours on your plate!
Children's meals (high tea) can be served earlier at 18:30 before the adults sit down to eat leaving them free to watch TV or go to bed. Children's meals are tailored to the parent's advice but no matter what is served, we always serve plenty vegetables or salad.
Cooking in chalet on an easy-catered option:
We have developed our new easy-catered dinner to help the groups wanting private and affordable dinners instead of eating out and about and being mindful of recent health warnings. We make sure that your group enjoy mealtimes together at the table even if our friendly team are not taking care of you in person. Instead our team will cook the same non-fuss, delicious menus either in our main chalet or in yours when you are out skiing either have it ready for you with simple heating instructions or deliver it to you every evening.
You can trust our chefs to cook the same delicious food you would get if it were a fully catered service using quality ingredients and fresh produce. While you won’t get to enjoy the show of them cooking in front you while you enjoy an aperitif or two, you get to enjoy home-cooking without the fuss of shopping, queuing and cooking. Ski Hiver makes it easy!
*Vegan & gluten free diets are charged at 30€ per person to cater for specially sourced ingredients and to allow for extra time preparing and cooking separate meals.
From experience we know that planning meals for a whole family or group of friends takes a fair amount of time, even if you bring a load of ingredients from home. Som we are here to offer you advice before your arrival on recommended local shops, supermarkets and restaurants if you prefer eating out.
