The great food we prepare in chalet is just as important as the great snow outside and getting it wrong can, quite literally, leave a bad taste in the mouth! Thankfully, we have a lot more control over the food than the snow!
We prepare the menus in consultation with our team, each of them bringing their favourite recipes to create a delicious balance of mountain traditions and exciting trends, cooked using the freshest products available during the season. Then starts the hard job of cooking, laughing, tasting, and sampling together until we have agreed upon and finalised all the different options. Ski Hiver teamwork at its best!
Our team tends to be mature with plenty of international life experience. With a healthy pinch of common sense, kilos of will power and a passion for skiing, they are able to adapt to all situations.
If you choose our fully catered, we can guarantee your group will enjoy plenty of friendly conversation and promise you that you will be in safe hands for a stress-free holiday. At Ski Hiver, everyone has a passion for cooking and the mountains so we can give you advice on where is good to eat, drink and of course ski or snowboard!
Breakfast:
To prepare you for the day, your group will need energy so your morning starts off with plenty of choice on your table: fresh bread from the local bakery, honey and preserves, cold meats and cheese, boiled eggs, porridge, pure orange juice, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, drinking chocolate, tea and coffee.
Afternoon Tea:
After a hard day’s on the slopes, just before you pop into the hot tub or sauna (maybe both depending of your chalet) you can enjoy a choice of savoury or sweet with your hot chocolate, tea or coffee.
Dinner:
We focus our attention on non-pretentious, well balanced, hearty but nutritious dishes so expect plenty of fine ingredients, loads of vegetables and colours on your plate so while you get on with enjoying your day, your hosts will prepare and cook a tasty 3/4-course meal just for you. The meals combine many international elements, created with local products and served with our house red and white wine.
We are delighted to adapt and tweak our menus depending on your dietary requirements and allergies but certain requirements carry a surcharge*.
Children's meals (high tea) can be served earlier at 18:30 leaving them free to watch TV, play or go to bed. Children's meals are tailored to the parent's advice but no matter what is served, we always include plenty vegetables or salad.
*Vegan & gluten free and some other diets are charged at 60€ per person upon booking to cater for specially sourced ingredients and to allow for extra preparation time and separate equipment. Any last minute requests upon arrival in resort will be charged at 100€ person. Please contact us to discuss your requirements to avoid disappointment.
From experience we know that planning meals for a whole family or group of friends takes a fair amount of time, even if you bring a load of ingredients from home. We are here to offer you advice before your arrival on recommended local shops, supermarkets or restaurants if you prefer eating out.
