We use Sport 2000 (Noz Sports) in Plan Peisey, who offer not only a range of skis and boards but also discount to our guests. Helmets are available too. Here is the link http://www.nozsports-peiseyvallandry.com They also will kindly look after the equipment overnight so you can walk to the lift in normal boots and not worry about lugging gear back and forth. You can either book directly or just send me a list of name, height, level of skier, and shoe size and they will then arrange for when you arrive. The latter option means that you only pay for the days used at the end of the period and incase of an accident, would not have to claim back on insurance for lost days on pre-booked/purchased ski hire.
We also work with another company but the locker option is not available.
It is advisable to book in advance especially during the peak weeks to avoid disappointment. I am happy to do this for you. .
To book ski lessons, I require the name, adult or child (age for child), level of proficiency, ski school preferred, type of lesson. I will also need a credit card number to reserve – this can be phoned or sent via our secure online form. There is a choice of a couple of ski schools in our resort – each offering something different, be it set group lessons, more flexibility and choice or English instructors. I can also recommend Sian Mcloughlin at SianSki who has recently set up her own business doing private lessons and at a reasonable cost! I can send you a booking form to complete for lessons.
New Generation (English Ski School)
They have limited instructors so early booking is absolutely necessary. New Generation run a superb English ski school which offers smaller group lessons and private lessons. They are great for those that take their skiing seriously and want to advance quicker or for those that want a lesson in pure English! We are happy to book the lessons or you can contact them direct, but be sure to explain which chalet you are staying in – you will not make a 9.00 am meeting time in Vallandry unless you have your own car, so aim for 11.30 or noon.
Please ask about Xmas, New Year and Half term timings and lesson types as they are run slightly different.
Level 1 - This is my first time, or maybe I’ve had a taster. I’m learning how to stop, turn, take lifts and ski safely.
Level 2 - I can snowplough turn competently on green runs.
Level 3 - I’m comfortable on green and easy blue runs. I’m learning and advancing towards parallel turning.
Level 4 - I can already consistently perform basic parallel turns and feel happy on groomed red runs.
Level 5 - I’m happy tackling all pistes in a confident parallel.
Level 6 - I’m happy skiing everywhere parallel, and in varying conditions on or off-piste, steep or bumpy. I just want to get better.
Whippersnappers (4-5yrs) - This is my first time.
Wallabies (6-12yrs)- This is my first time.
Arrows (6-12yrs) - I can already take lifts (drag/chair) and ski green runs doing good plough turns.

Rockets (8-13yrs)- I can already ski parallel turns down red slopes.
Freeride (10-13yrs) - I am a strong parallel skier that can ski on all pistes without any trouble. I want an adventure and to master all types of terrain and conditions.
Level 1 - I am a complete beginner or I have done an hour or two on a snowboard.
Level 2 - I can turn heelside to toeside and toeside to heelside on easy terrain such as a green run, snowdome, or dry slope.
Level 3 - I can ride and turn on blue runs. On green runs, I link my turns and carry my speed from one turn to the next.

Private Lessons with English instructor
SianSki is a new ski school this season - an ex instructor from New Generation who offers private lessons at a reasonable price - as she is just one person she will get booked up quickly so early booking is advised!
Mornings 9.15 - 12.15pm, Afternoons 1.15 - 4.15pm Sian can also do a Full Day (6 hours)
1 or 2 people = 195 € 3 or 4 people = 220 €
The new snowboarding school has opened this year and will do small groups of 4 minimum and private lessons. They are based in Bourg but will come up to Peisey. Rather than being skiers that teach boarding, they are snowboarding specialists and are passionate about teaching the sport - to children as well as to adults. They speak English too! I have had great reviews from guests who used this school last season so can highly recommend them.
The French ski school who offer cheaper group lessons but generally are bigger groups than New Generation. They also offer private lessons which are a reasonable price but please ask for the recommended ski instructors (from me)
Be sure to book at the right centre otherwise you will have to trek over to Vallandry - you need the one at Plan Peisey! The link to their site is https://www.peiseyvallandry-skischool.co.uk/ - some people have found their booking system complicated so if you have any problems please ask.
